If you frequently fly with JetBlue, the JetBlue Business Card could be a great fit for you. With a reasonable annual fee, it comes with appealing perks like statement credits, bonus points, and airport benefits. Plus, you’ll enjoy a generous welcome bonus and the potential to earn up to six points per dollar on purchases.

However, the reward redemptions are quite limited and the card does lack some of the business management features offered with comparable cards.

If you don’t fly JetBlue regularly, you are likely to find this card extremely limited. Since the rewards and redemptions are weighted towards JetBlue purchases, you’ll not be able to fully leverage the potential of the card, particularly since you can’t use your points for partner airlines, with the exception of Hawaiian Airlines.

So, you will need to carefully think about what you’re expecting from your co-branded card and whether you rack up sufficient flight time with JetBlue to make the most of this card.

What are card income requirements?

There are no official income requirements for the JetBlue Business Card, but you do need to have good to excellent credit. This means that while your income will be a factor, it is only one of the considerations Barclays will assess when making an approval decision.

Can I get pre-approved?

Unfortunately, Barclays does not have a pre approval option on its official website, but Barclays may occasionally send out mailers or other marketing materials offering pre approval to select customers.

Does the card provide travel insurance?

Unfortunately, the JetBlue Business Card does not provide travel insurance even if you book your fares with your card.

You and up to three travel companions on the same reservation can receive first checked bags for free on JetBlue operated flights.

You can also enjoy Group A boarding on your JetBlue flights. This means that you’ll be invited to board after customers with disabilities, Mint and Mosaic customers and Even More Space customers.

However, you will board before courtesy boarding customers, such as customers traveling with small children and active military personnel, who also board before general boarding groups.

You can enjoy 50% savings on eligible purchases when you’re on your JetBlue operated flight.

Each year, after your cardholder anniversary, you’ll receive 5,000 bonus points. There is also $100 per year in statement credit that you can receive after you’ve purchased a JetBlue Vacations package costing over $100 using your JetBlue Business Card.

You won't be charged any fees for making purchases abroad with the JetBlue Business card.

This is a fairly standard credit card benefit, but it is still nice to know that you won’t be responsible for any unauthorized or fraudulent charges to your account.

Although your purchases with the JetBlue Business card can help you achieve Mosaic status. However, this does require spending of at least $50,000, which may be outside of the reach of many customers.

The JetBlue Business Card does have some nice features, but it is missing some specific business related perks such as account management.

Although it is to be expected that the card would be weighted towards JetBlue, there are limited bonus rewards outside of this group.

You can only use your accumulated points to book JetBlue travel or flights on Hawaiian Airlines. This is rather limited compared to other airline co-branded credit cards, which typically offer other redemption methods such as gift cards.

When you redeem your points for travel on JetBlue operated award flights, you’ll receive 10% of your points back.

Bear in mind that your points never expire and you can redeem them for any seat at any time on JetBlue operated flights.

Is the JetBlue Business Card Right for You?

Since this is a co-branded credit card, it is best suited to business owners who regularly fly with JetBlue. Since the rewards and redemptions are heavily weighted towards JetBlue, if you fly at least a few times a year, you’ll be able to maximize the potential value of this card.

The JetBlue Business Card could also be a good option for those who want access to an enhanced airport experience. Since you’ll get free first checked bags and priority boarding when you fly JetBlue, this card could be a good option for you.

JetBlue Business VS Personal Card

Barclays offers a similar card for personal customers. The JetBlue credit card offers the same savings on inflight purchases and no foreign transaction fees, but this is pretty much where the similarities end. The regular card included on our top airline cards list.

The personal card has no annual fee compared to the $99 fee with the business card. Additionally, the card has a 0% APR promotion on balance transfers made within 45 days of opening your account.

However, the tiered reward structure for the personal card is less generous, only offering up to three points per dollar and the welcome bonus is far less, with a far lower spend requirement.

Additionally, the personal card does not offer the airport perks of free checked bags and priority boarding.

FAQs

When you want to redeem your rewards, you will need to log into your account and you can then search for JetBlue flights, selecting “points” rather than “dollars” for your preferred flight or itinerary.

You can then continue the booking as normal, but you’ll be able to use your points rather than money. However, Barclays does offer the option to use cash and points if you don’t have enough points to pay for your trip.

The JetBlue Business Card is not a good idea if you don’t regularly fly with JetBlue. Since the rewards and redemptions are weighted towards JetBlue purchases, you will need to fly at least several times per year to get the best value from the card.

If this applies to you, you would be better suited to a more general travel rewards credit card, which may offer you greater flexibility.
