The PNC points® Visa® Credit Card is a credit card offered by the regional bank PNC. It provides an opportunity to earn rewards points on almost all purchases, with a competitive rewards rate of  4 points per $1 on purchases + 25% / 50% /75% bonus on all base points for PNC customers . These points are redeemable for gift cards, cash, electronics, name-brand merchandise, and travel services.

The card integrates well with PNC online banking and Virtual Wallet, offering an opportunity for bonus points for PNC banking customers. These bonuses range from 25% to 75%, depending on the type of PNC account and the associated balance or direct deposit requirements.

New applicants are eligible for a sign-up bonus of 100,000 bonus points after you make $1,000 in purchases during the first 3 billing cycles following account opening, in addition to 0% intro APR for 12 billing cycles for purchases and balance transfer.

However, the rewards rate isn’t as generous as it seems because the point value isn’t worth much.  A balance of 50,000 points from this card will give you $100 cash, but contemporary cards will redeem up to $300-$500 for the same number of points. .

The PNC Points Visa is most suitable for existing PNC banking customers, as they can benefit from bonus points and seamless integration with other PNC banking services. However, for those outside PNC's reach or seeking higher point values, exploring alternative credit cards may be a better option.

How do I redeem my points?

Points can be redeemed for various options, including gift cards, merchandise, Apple purchases, and travel, through the online rewards page.

Can I transfer points to other travel loyalty programs?

No, points cannot be transferred to other travel loyalty programs; they must be used through the PNC Points Redemption Center.

Can I use the points for travel rewards?

Yes, you can redeem points for travel, but bookings must be made through the PNC Points Redemption Center.

What are the bonus point opportunities for PNC banking customers?

PNC banking customers can earn bonus points ranging from 25% to 75%, based on specific account types and associated requirements.

Is there a cell phone protection benefit with this card?

Yes, the card offers cell phone protection if the cardholder pays their wireless bill with the PNC points Visa.

You can earn up to 100,000 bonus points after you make $1,000 in purchases during the first 3 billing cycles following account opening.

You earn 4 points per $1 on purchases + 25% / 50% /75% bonus on all base points for PNC customers .

PNC banking customers can benefit from bonus points, ranging from 25% to 75%, based on the type of PNC account and associated balance or direct deposit requirements.

There are no annual fees required to continue using the card, which is an added plus because most credit cards charge yearly fees to recoup costs spent on rewards and bonuses.

Cardholders have various redemption choices, including gift cards, merchandise, Apple purchases, and travel, providing flexibility in utilizing earned points.

There is a 0% introductory APR for 12 billing cycles for purchases and balance transfer, then 18.24% – 30.24% Variable, based on creditworthiness.

This feature may be helpful for clients who want to make significant purchases with enough time to pay back the debt.

The PNC points® Visa® Credit Card has a few drawbacks like the foreign transaction fee of 3% of the amount in US Dollars, which leads to extra costs for persons who frequently patronize foreign merchants.

There is no limit to the number of points you can win; however, they expire at the end of the 48 month after they were added to your PNC points account.

The points earned with the PNC points Visa have a relatively low cash value compared to other rewards cards, impacting the overall value of the rewards program.

This card's balance of 50,000 points is worth $100 in cash.

Unlike some other rewards cards, the PNC points Visa does not allow the transfer of points to travel partners, limiting options for utilizing points for travel-related expenses.

The card is only available in areas with a physical presence of PNC, restricting access for individuals outside these regions.

How It Compared To Other PNC Bank Credit Cards?

The PNC points Visa card is a rewards credit card, but PNC bank offer additional cashback and rewrads cards – let's compare them.

A strong competitor is the new PNC Cash Unlimited Visa Signature® Credit Card, stands out with its straightforward rewards system, offering unlimitedunlimited 2% cash back on every purchase.   There are no caps on earnings, no expiration dates for cash back, and no foreign transaction fees.

The old the PNC Cash Rewards® Visa® Credit Card is another competitor if you're looking for rewards,  offers 4% on Gas station purchases, 3% on Restaurant and 2% on Grocery store (for the first $8,000 in combined purchases in these three categories) and 1% cash back on all other purchases.

Credit Card Reviews Methodology

In order to determine the best possible credit cards, we look at things like fees, interest rates and rewards. We do this with companies that are associated with us as partners as well as other offerings. From there, we make a decision about what the best card is related to different categories and needs. We focus on interest rate cost & fees, especially the cost of carrying a balance, rewards – cards accumulate rewards in different currencies—points, miles, cash back—and their values vary widely usability – cards that accept a wide range of credit profiles and offer simple solutions for things like checking your credit score or contacting. We also consider customer reviews.

We look at cards related to good or excellent credit ratings that will then provide a range of different benefits and improvements for someone who has these scores. We also look at low fees when it comes to those who have lower credit scores.
