The TD Cash Credit Card is a no-annual-fee cash-back card available exclusively to residents within TD Bank's service area, provides benefits to its customers as well as a lovely cashback rewards model.

The card offers unlimited 3% and 2% Cash Back on your choice of Spend Categories (you can switch your categories quarterly), and 1% Cash Back on all other purchases.

Redeeming rewards requires a minimum of 2,500 points, with options including statement credits, direct deposits, gift cards, merchandise, and travel. The TD Cash Credit Card comes with additional benefits like cellphone protection, lost luggage reimbursement, extended warranty protection, and purchase security.

New applicants are eligible for sign up bonus of $200 Cash Back when you spend $500 within 90 days after account opening as well as a 0% intro APR for 12 billing cycles on balance transfer (20.24% – 30.24% variable after that).

Despite its attractive features, the card's eligibility is restricted to residents of specific East Coast states. Additionally, the card carries a foreign transaction fee, and doesn't offer travel perks.

What are the default cash-back categories?

Initially, the card defaults to 3% back on dining and 2% at grocery stores.

What are the eligible states for the TD Cash Credit Card?

Residents of Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Vermont, Virginia, or Washington, D.C., are eligible.

Can I change my cash-back categories?

Yes, you can switch your 3% and 2% rewards categories every quarter among options like dining, entertainment, gas, groceries, and travel.

How can I redeem my cash-back rewards?

You can redeem rewards once you accumulate at least 2,500 points, either as a statement credit or a deposit to a TD bank.

What benefits come with the Visa Signature card?

Visa Signature benefits include purchase protection, extended warranty, cellphone protection, concierge service, and special guest status at over 900 hotels worldwide.

Pros & Cons

Let’s take a closer look at the pros and cons of the TD Cash Card – and whether or not it’s suitable for your wallet.

Pros
Cons
Welcome Bonus and Rewards
Foreign Transaction Fee
Customizable Rewards
Limited Availability
Additional Visa Signature Benefits
Redemption Limits
No Annual Fee
0% Intro APR

Card owners enjoy multiple rewards with this card, like the $200 Cash Back when you spend $500 within 90 days after account opening.

There is also the 3% and 2% Cash Back on your choice of Spend Categories (you can switch your categories quarterly), and 1% Cash Back on all other purchases.

Cardholders have the flexibility to choose their top two spending categories, earning unlimited 3% and 2% cash back.

There is a 0% introductory APR for 12 billing cycles on balance transfer.

This introductory rate may be helpful to clients that wish to make high-end purchases.

There is a 0$ annual fee, which means that clients aren’t obligated to pay yearly fees. Taking into account the multiple rewards and benefits provided for users of this card, the no annual fees is a surprise because most credit card companies use it to regain the cost of rewards and bonuses.

Depending on the credit limit, cardholders receive Visa Signature benefits such as purchase protection, extended warranty, cellphone protection, and concierge service.

On the other hand, you can only redeem a minimum of $25 for general purchases, while travel transactions require a minimum of $150 for hotel bookings and $250 for a round-trip flight.

Also, card owners are unable to transfer their rewards to other TD cards. This card has a limit for the worth of the points to redeem.

The card is only available to residents of TD Bank's 15-state service area and Washington, D.C., limiting accessibility for potential users.

A 3% foreign transaction fee applies, making the card less favorable for international travel or purchases in foreign currencies.

How It Compared To Other TD Bank Credit Cards?

Among TD Bank's credit card offerings, the TD Cash Credit Card stands out for its cash-back rewards system and flexibility in choosing spending categories. When compared to other TD credit cards, each option caters to different preferences and needs.

The TD Double Up Credit Card, with its 2% unlimited Cash Back – no rotating Spend Categories, no caps or limits on all purchases and a special offer of $150 Cash Back in the form of a statement credit when you spend $1,000 within the first 90 days after account opening, provides simplicity and a straightforward rewards structure. This might be appealing for those who prefer a consistent cash-back rate without dealing with rotating spending categories.

The TD First Class Visa Signature Credit Card is more travel-oriented, featuring a special offer of $200 Cash Back when you spend $500 within 90 days after account opening and earning $150 Cash Back in the form of a statement credit when you spend $1,000 within the first 90 days after account opening. While it has an annual fee of $89 (waived first year), it may be a better fit for frequent travelers seeking airline rewards.

The TD FlexPay Credit Card, on the other hand, focuses on balance transfers, offering a 0% intro APR and late fee forgiveness. This card is ideal for individuals looking to manage and consolidate existing credit card debt.

Credit Card Reviews Methodology

In order to determine the best possible credit cards, we look at things like fees, interest rates and rewards. We do this with companies that are associated with us as partners as well as other offerings. From there, we make a decision about what the best card is related to different categories and needs. We focus on interest rate cost & fees, especially the cost of carrying a balance, rewards – cards accumulate rewards in different currencies—points, miles, cash back—and their values vary widely usability – cards that accept a wide range of credit profiles and offer simple solutions for things like checking your credit score or contacting. We also consider customer reviews.

We look at cards related to good or excellent credit ratings that will then provide a range of different benefits and improvements for someone who has these scores. We also look at low fees when it comes to those who have lower credit scores.
