In This Review..

The U.S. Bank Visa® Platinum Card is for people who are looking to either finance a major purchase or pay off a debt interest-free. It is one of the best credit card options in the market for a one-time buy. The card does not charge an annual fee .

The main benefit of U.S. Bank Visa® Platinum Card is the long 0% intro APR – 20 billing cycles on purchases and balance transfers, then 18.74% – 29.74% (Variable). It can be great for those who carry debt or plan a big purchase soon. If you are carrying a large balance on another card, you are likely to be charged high interest for this payment.

However, the Visa® Platinum Card doesn't offer any rewards or appealing sign up bonus. So, if you don't use the long o% intro – you may prefer to look for another card instead.

Drawbacks

Here are the most important cons you should consider before apply:

Many credit cards, including store cards, offer some kind of sign-up bonus. This can be the extra motivation that many need to jump into getting the card.

Currently the U.S. Bank Visa Platinum card does not offer a sign-up bonus.

Many cards on the market offer rewards for spending, such as cashback rewards, points, or travel rewards. The U.S. Bank Visa Platinum card does not offer any rewards.

The U.S. Bank Visa Platinum card has a foreign transaction fee of 3%. You definitely want to avoid this fee. If traveling, leave this card at a home for one that does not have a fee.

There is a balance transfer fee required if you want to take advantage of the introductory 0% APR rate. The fee is incurred when you transfer debts from one or more credit cards to your U.S. Bank Visa Platinum card.

This fee is $5 or 3% (the greater). The fee is upfront and will be added to your debt load when transferred.

Credit Card Reviews Methodology

In order to determine the best possible credit cards, we look at things like fees, interest rates and rewards. We do this with companies that are associated with us as partners as well as other offerings. From there, we make a decision about what the best card is related to different categories and needs. We focus on interest rate cost & fees, especially the cost of carrying a balance, rewards – cards accumulate rewards in different currencies—points, miles, cash back—and their values vary widely usability – cards that accept a wide range of credit profiles and offer simple solutions for things like checking your credit score or contacting. We also consider customer reviews.

We look at cards related to good or excellent credit ratings that will then provide a range of different benefits and improvements for someone who has these scores. We also look at low fees when it comes to those who have lower credit scores.
