If you own a business and really like the Hyatt Group, it makes sense to choose the World of Hyatt business credit card. The card has some nice benefits, but they mostly apply to the Hyatt Group. You won't get any special perks like late checkout or room upgrades unless you have elite status in the Hyatt loyalty program.
The card gives you more rewards when you spend money at Hyatt hotels, but for all other purchases, you only get one or two points per dollar, which isn't that great.
If you don't stay at a Hyatt hotel very often throughout the year, it might be better to get a different rewards card that's more general. There are other business cards with similar annual fees that might give you better rewards and more flexibility when it comes to earning and using those rewards.
- 0% Introductory APR
- Anniversary Companion Certificate
- Free First Checked Bags
- Preferred Boarding
- No Foreign Transaction Fees
- Statement Credit for Inflight Purchases
- Travel Insurance
- High Annual Fee
- No Bonus Categories
- Low Rewards Rate
- High APR
How do I redeem rewards?
The points you earn with this card will be automatically deposited into your linked World of Hyatt account. This means that when you want to redeem them, you will need to log into your Hyatt account and browse the site for award nights for your preferred dates and location.
You can then book as normal, but you will use your points as your payment method.
How hard is it to get a World of Hyatt Business credit card?
If you have decent credit, you should not have great difficulty getting this card. However, the card is subject to Chase’s 5/24 rule.
So, if you’ve opened five or more new credit card accounts in the last 24 months, not only with Chase, but any card issuer, your application will be declined regardless of your credit status.
When it may not be a good idea?
This card is not a good choice if you are not particularly brand loyal to Hyatt. If you don’t typically stay at Hyatt locations regularly, you will be unlikely to leverage the full potential of the card and get the most value from it.

- Hyatt Leverage Program
The Hyatt Leverage program has the potential to offer companies average savings of $350 or more per year. The main perk of this program is discounts on the rates for standard rooms at participating Hyatt hotels.
- Redemption Bonus
If you spend $50,000 or more in a calendar year, you can get 10% of your redeemed points back for the remainder of the year. This perk is available for up to 200,000 redeemed points.
- World of Hyatt Discoverist Status
Receive World of Hyatt Discoverist status for as long as your account is open.
- Rental Car Insurance
If you pay for the entire rental with your card and decline the collision insurance offered at the rental company counter, you can benefit from auto rental collision damage waiver cover.
This is primary coverage when you’re renting a vehicle for business purposes. The insurance has a coverage limit for reimbursement against theft or collision damage up to the actual cash value of the vehicle, whether you’re in the U.S or abroad.
- DashPass
New cardholders can receive a complimentary DashPass, which can be used for DoorDash and Caviar. This membership offers unlimited deliveries with no delivery fees and you can also benefit from lower service fees on your eligible orders.

- Low Rewards for Non Hyatt Categories
Although, you can receive a higher rewards rate in popular categories, the base rewards rate is a little on the low side.
It is not unusual for a co-branded card to have rewards that are heavily weighted towards the brand, but many other hotel cards offer more than one point per dollar on all other spending.
- Minimal Travel Perks
While there is some travel insurance coverage, this card does have few other travel perks, which could enhance your travel experience.
- Trip Cancellation/Interruption Insurance
If your trip is cut short or canceled due to covered situations such as illness or severe weather, you can be reimbursed up to $1,500 per person for non refundable, pre-paid passenger fares. However, there is a coverage limit of $5,000 per trip.
- Emergency and Travel Assistance
As a cardholder, if you run into any problems when you’re away from home, you can call the helpline for medical or legal referrals, or any other emergency and travel assistance. The helpline is free to use, but you will be responsible for the costs of any services or goods you obtain.
- No Foreign Transaction Fees
As a travel credit card, there are no foreign transaction fees associated with this card.
- Employee Cards
As with many of the Chase business credit cards, you can request additional cards for your employees. This will allow you to more easily manage your business finances and you’ll earn points on the purchases made by your employees.
Who is the World of Hyatt Business Credit Card Best For?
This co-branded card is ideal for those who are loyal to the World of Hyatt group and often stay at Hyatt properties throughout the year. The rewards program is geared toward Hyatt purchases, and many of the benefits are tailored specifically for Hyatt guests. As a result, frequent Hyatt customers will be able to get the most value out of this card.
Moreover, the card could also be a wise choice for those who may not stay at Hyatt locations frequently but wish to simplify their business expense management. Since additional cards come at no cost and the second tier reward rate applies to your highest spending categories, you can accumulate a substantial number of points throughout the year, making it feasible to earn award nights.

World Of Hyatt Business vs Personal Card
Chase offers the World of Hyatt business credit card and its personal credit card counterpart. The rewards ratio is quite similar but the business card is more flexible. Also, the business card welcome bonus is more attractive.
Card | Rewards | Bonus | Annual Fee | |
---|---|---|---|---|
1X – 4X
4 Bonus Points per $1 spent on purchases at all Hyatt hotels. Plus, 5 Base Points from Hyatt per eligible $1 spent for being a World of Hyatt member. 2x Bonus Points per $1 spent at restaurants, on airline tickets purchased directly from the airline, local transit and commuting as well as fitness club and gym memberships. Plus, earn 1 Bonus Point per $1 spent on all other purchases.
| 60,000 points
Earn up to 60,000 Bonus Points after qualifying purchases.
| $95 |
Personal customers can also receive a free award night every year, but they don’t get the redemption bonus offered to business customers. The suite of insurance coverage is also a little different. In addition to the trip cancellation/interruption and rental car coverage, personal customers also get baggage insurance.
The final difference is that the annual fee for the personal card is lower at $95 rather than the $199 with the business card.
