If you’re looking to travel this year to many destinations with Hyatt hotels, the World of Hyatt Credit Card is perfect for cutting down hotel costs.

Cardholders earn 4 bonus points per $1 spent for Hyatt stays and experiences including restaurants and spas, 2x for flights purchased directly from the airline, local transit, commuting, restaurants, fitness club, gym memberships and 1 bonus point per $1 spent on all other purchases.

In addition, new applicants are eligible for a sign up bonus of 30,000 points after you spend $3,000 on purchases within the first 3 months of account opening.  You also can get early check-in and late checkout. This makes staying in hotels much more enjoyable.

Benefits

Along with all the other hotel perks, you get one free night in a hotel every year that you own the card. You can use this night on its own or you can combine it with other hotel stays to get an extended vacation.

You can also use the free night at a fancy hotel that you normally might be able to afford.

When you get this card, you will automatically get Discoverist status. This gives you extra hotel perks every time you stay in a Hyatt hotel.

As you spend more on the card, you also have the chance to move up to the next category which is Explorist.

Each month, you can pick a bonus category for spending. This allows you to earn more points in this particular category.

Make sure you are choosing a new one every month and that you are picking the category where you will spend the most money.

The rewards you can earn encompass many different categories so you can use this card every time you eat at a restaurant, go see a movie, or get things at the grocery store.

Make sure you are using the card whenever you go out so you can rack up some rewards.

Drawbacks

The World of Hyatt card has a few drawbacks including that there are fewer Hyatt hotels than other competitor hotels worldwide.

You might want to check the destinations you usually travel to and see if they have Hyatt hotels that you can pick from when you travel.

Unlike other hotel cards, they also don’t offer discounts on multi-night stays. Although you might get a free night if you book a certain minimum number of nights, you will not get an overall discount on the price you are paying.

They also follow the peak award pricing system, so some nights will be much more expensive than others.

If you are traveling during the holidays or another popular vacation time of the year, you might not find good deals. Even though you have the rewards card, you might be paying the same prices as everyone else.

How To Apply For World of Hyatt Card?

  • You can start your application for this card at the World Hyatt, but you'll be redirected to Chase website. Make sure you gather all your identification documents including a passport or government ID. You also need to make you know your social security number as the application will ask for it.
  • The first part of the application will ask for all your personal information including your full name, date of birth, address, and telephone number.

It will also be for your email to verify your ID. Make sure the information you are entering matches the information on the ID you plan to use.

Redemption Options

You can redeem them through the credit card portal to book rooms and get free perks. The portal allows you to book all your hotel stays. If you don’t book through the portal, you will not be able to use the rewards and points, so make sure you are searching for deals within the portal.

How to Maximize World Of Hyatt Credit Card?

  • Welcome bonus –  This allows you to get 30,000 points after you spend $3,000 on purchases within the first 3 months of account opening. This allows you to get bonus points and be able to start booking hotel stays faster.
  • Leverage Perks – If you get a late check-out or a free night, make sure you stay in the hotel and take advantage of the extras you get.
  • Make up for the annual fee – Most credit cards have an annual credit card fee. If you are using all the perks and rewards though, you can easily make back the annual fee. The best way to do this is to use all the free nights that are offered to you.

What Customers Think?

Satisfied borrowers report that the World of Hyatt card almost always gives them late checkouts and free room upgrades. This is a great way to extend your vacation. Some users also say they are able to get free spa services for themselves and a guest. Users also love that resort fees are waived and that it’s pretty easy to get into the higher elite status levels.

Negative reviews say that the annual fee is too high and can be hard to earn back if you have a year of not traveling often. Hyatt hotels are also not found worldwide, so you might always be able to stay in a Hyatt hotel when you travel.

In Which Cases it’s Better to Skip?

It’s better to skip the World of Hyatt card if you don’t travel often or if you don’t stay in Hyatt hotels. If you have certain destinations you like to travel to each year, make sure you are checking them to see if they have Hyatt hotels.

If they don’t, the card might not be worth it. It’s also better to skip if you would rather have a card that doesn’t tie you down to one hotel chain.

Credit Card Reviews Methodology

In order to determine the best possible credit cards, we look at things like fees, interest rates and rewards. We do this with companies that are associated with us as partners as well as other offerings. From there, we make a decision about what the best card is related to different categories and needs. We focus on interest rate cost & fees, especially the cost of carrying a balance, rewards – cards accumulate rewards in different currencies—points, miles, cash back—and their values vary widely usability – cards that accept a wide range of credit profiles and offer simple solutions for things like checking your credit score or contacting. We also consider customer reviews.

We look at cards related to good or excellent credit ratings that will then provide a range of different benefits and improvements for someone who has these scores. We also look at low fees when it comes to those who have lower credit scores.
