Satisfied customers report that Amex Gold Card has very high reward earning possibilities. With up to 10x points for every dollar you spend, depending on the category, your rewards can quickly add up, particularly if you meet the spending requirement to bag the 60,000 points introductory bonus.

Other reviews also highlight that there are redemption options for a wide variety of partners.

Negative reviews report frustration that while this card is geared towards travel, there are no lounge benefits. While the Chase Sapphire Reserve card offers VIP lounge access, this is not a feature of the Gold Card.

There are also complaints about the high Over Time costs and penalties. While this is promoted as a card benefit, the APR makes Over Time to be impractical.

Chase Sapphire Reserve Card

Satisfied borrowers report that The Chase Sapphire Reserve Card offers a great reward package with plenty of additional benefits. From free memberships and discounts to upgrades, members report that the benefits package certainly negates the $550 membership fee.

Many users report getting upgrades on rental cars and get a great deal of use out of their Priority Pass. Additionally, for frequent travelers, the $300 travel reimbursement is a very attractive bonus.

Negative reviews report that the customer service could be better. There are numerous reviews complaining about long waits on call hold and delays in response to queries or issues. There are also complaints that there is no rate negotiation.

Whether your credit has improved or you’re suffering from financial hardship, the stock reply appears to be that the agent “cannot do anything”.

Credit Card Reviews Methodology

In order to determine the best possible credit cards, we look at things like fees, interest rates and rewards. We do this with companies that are associated with us as partners as well as other offerings. From there, we make a decision about what the best card is related to different categories and needs. We focus on interest rate cost & fees, especially the cost of carrying a balance, rewards – cards accumulate rewards in different currencies—points, miles, cash back—and their values vary widely usability – cards that accept a wide range of credit profiles and offer simple solutions for things like checking your credit score or contacting. We also consider customer reviews.

We look at cards related to good or excellent credit ratings that will then provide a range of different benefits and improvements for someone who has these scores. We also look at low fees when it comes to those who have lower credit scores.
